Nice nagahama view @ yomitan with Pizza

I've heard Pizza cafe was open at yomitan. So I checked out it.
Cafe name is Happy cruise cafe.

Nice luxury house and Pizza stone oven was installed.
Of course nice view from Nagahama. I like this view.

We ordered Margarita pizza and Teriyaki chicken pizza. Pizza set is 980 Yen with salad and drink. I got 100 Yen off ticket for the return visit.

Pizza craft was more bread type rather than nappoli thin craft type. but after piccoino gone around Yomitan and Onna area, any pizza restaurant is important and appreciate.

Charcoal Grill Matsui

New restaurant opened at Yomitan, next to my favorite bakery, Otonari-ya.

Restaurant name is Matsui Ryoriten. Main menu is charcoal grilled steak and hamburg steak. We went there during lunch time. Price is around 800 JPN Yen to 1000 JPN Yen, including ice cream and coffee as dessert. Cheap and food quality is good. They have pasta and doria/gratin 500 JPN Yen, like typical Japanese 洋食屋(youshoku ya), old style of western food.

150 gram steak set, 1200 JPN Yen. If you are big eater, probably not enough. For me enough.

Kitone Ichi

One of excited local event is 'Kitone Ichi' in Yomitan area. Kitone Ichi is held three times a year (Spring, summer, and fall)and kind of local bazaar or local crafts and food market(but few farmer's product). Mainly you can buy local crafts and local cafe food, mostly healthy and organic etc.



I can see a lot of Hippie style okinawa local people, so I felt I 'm in somewhere San Francisco.



You can see information in the URL, but Japanese. Probably you can see advertise paper in Masoho cafe one or two week before Kitone ichi is held.


Last time Kitone Ichi was held in Zappa cape park.

Gyudon Beef bowl

Gyudon (Beef bowl) is one of traditional Japanese fast food. Yoshinoya is the famous chain restaurant. You can find Yoshinoya in the food court in JUSCO(AEON) mall (Gushikawa, and Chatan etc).


If you want to try non-Yoshinoya Gyudon beef bowl, I suggest you should try it in Kashiwaya Bento shop in Yomitan.
Taste is a bit sweeter than Yoshinoya but I like it. Price is 400 JPN Yen. Kashiwaya has the pork miso soup with rice (350 JPN Yen). Pretty good volume.

Oldies Japanese sweets; Michael

In Yomitan, one old style Japanese sweet, not like current popular Tokyo sweets. I think quality is pretty good based on Okinawa standard and price is cheap as usual in Okinawa.

I like eclair (160 JPN Yen) in this shop. Base on web information, cream puff seems to be famous, though. Too big for me and wife.


and dry fruit pound cake. (0ne slice is around 100 JPN Yen)



The shop is in front of police station near Kanehide in Yomitan. You can easily find the shop pink flag and sign.

Ootoya (typical Japanese food, not Okinawa food)

Ootoya is Japanese chain restaurant, main office is in Tokyo. Food quality is pretty good. If you want to try traditional Japanese meal, Ootoya is one of the best choice in Okinawa. Okinawa food is bit different from typical Japanese meal. If you get tired to Goya champuru and Okinawa soba, you should go Ootoya. You can order traditional Japanese meal, like Tonkatsu, or grilled fish. or Udon noodle.

The closest one from Onna village is in Yomitan Aeon town. Starbucks coffee is next to Ootoya, so you can enjoy coffee after meal.

Cute sweets shop in Yomitan [CLOSED]

[Unfortunately CLOSED]
I've heard there is nice and cute sweets shop in Yomitan.
Last weekend finally we visited. Sweets shop name is 'Sobe Lab.'
Very small shop in the 1st floor of resident apt.



My wife and I were so excited when we saw the entrance. Looks cute, kawaii.
The female owner seems to manage shop by herself. There is one small table. You can eat and chat in the shop as well, but we took out cakes to home.

Cakes are not fancy but we feel very sophisticated and taste good. I repeat it again.

Zen. Healthy Okinawa Food restaurant

I would like to say 'Zen' is one of the best okinawa food restaurant. I recommend to go for lunch. Good quality, volume and price.

You can choose meat or fish and price is 980 JPN Yen, including green tea ice cream. In this time, I selected chicken and my wife selected fish. Both mains makes us full. we both were satisfied at quality and volume.

We can order Zen's bento (600 JPN Yen) every two weeks through our mailing list as well.

Yachi mun Ichi （やちむん市）

Yomitan village is famous for Yachi-mun (pottery).

2 or 3 times per year We have Yachi-mun Ichi (Pottery bazaar).
Pottery shops around Yomitan gather and sell their pottery. You can find some discount pottery and expensive ones.

Each artist has different design and color.
Big benefit of this bazaar is you can see each pottery design together. You don't need to drive each shop separately.
We can find favorite one, and when my friends visit Okinawa, we can take them to this shop directly.

Local restaurant in Toya's fishing port

If you want to eat fresh sea food and nice and cheap, here is place to go.

You can order the other Tuna Don（マグロ丼） around 500 JPN Yen and 天ぷら(Fried fish, squeed, or see weed. 50 JPN Yen each)



Of course, You can buy local fish. If you want to see the fish auction, go to Toya fishing port around 10 am. Almost everyday fish auction is held. Comparing to Tokyo Tsukiji fish auction, very small but still fun to see. Sometimes bycatched sea turtle is on the boat as well.

New Bakery in Yomitan. Suien

New bakery opened in Yomitain, named 水円(Suien).

Owner used to worked at Munakata dou, famous bakery shop in Ginowan.
Main breads are hard bread, no danish bread.




Place is near Zakimi castle, and very quiet area. Owner couples renovated old Okinawa house for this bakery shop. We saw many furniture and kitchen stuff in old japanese day.

Boulangerie Otonari Ya at Yomitan

I gradually introduce cafes, restaurants, and bakeries around here.

As first bakery, I'm grad to introduce my favorite bakery 'Otonari Ya', which means my neighborhood in Japanese.
Young couple manage this small bakery shop.
This bakery has hard bread,　30%? rye breads, french baquettes and Danishes. I like Danishes at Pan de Kaito in Nago, but the others I like at this bakery.
